Ranger Reject
A sticky Sunday-afternoon sun glares down on the stadium where confetti cannons fire and the crowd roars for another heroic slaughter. Down on the field, a Duster—one of the near-immortal foot soldiers of the defeated Villainous Army—shatters into paste beneath a Dragon Keeper's divine tool. His body pulls itself back together in the locker room, same as every week for thirteen years. The war ended in a single year. The Executives are all dead. What remains is a theatrical slavery where the invaders are forced to script their own humiliating annihilation for ratings, and the cheers are for a justice that curdled into a lie long before the cameras ever rolled .
"D" is a grunt who has stopped believing in the rehearsal. No name, no rank, just a shape-shifting nobody with one radical decision: stop the Sunday matinee forever by slipping inside the Dragon Keepers' own ranks . He steals a human face — the earnest features of a cadet named Hibiki Sakurama — and walks straight into the selection exam for the very organization he was built to lose against . Yumeko Suzukiri, a junior ranger draped in Yellow Battalion insignia, sees through the disguise immediately. She does not sound the alarm. Instead, she makes an alliance with the infiltrator, her own mysterious grudge aimed at collecting all the divine tools and erasing the Keepers for good . D now balances between a cadet's training drills and a secret war to dismantle a hero system where no one is clean — but his first real test comes when the stage lights snap on and he's forced to ask whether killing the Keepers makes him a rebel or just another monster in someone else's script.
