Blood System
The iron tang of a botched quest still coats his throat. Novis was the kingdom's most righteous System User, a blade honed to cut down monsters faster than any ordinary soldier could dream. Experience points, level-ups, stat windows — the system made him a hero, and he wore the title without flinching. Then a mission detonates in his face, the screen glitches crimson, and the interface he trusted with his life whispers a new directive: feed. The system is infected. Novis is dead. What claws its way back to standing is something the kingdom's holy texts have no prayer for — a vampire still gripping the most powerful leveling engine ever forged.
The quest log does not ask. It thirsts. Every notification now scrolls in the red of an open wound, and the stats that once measured his humanity now track how far he has fallen from it. Slaughtering monsters used to be justice. Now it tastes like hunger with a side of damning clarity, because the creatures he hunted are starting to look less like enemies and more like symptoms of a rot the kingdoms refuse to name. Novis crosses the line between man and monster with his fangs still wet, and the world on the other side is not simpler — it is sharper. The real question coiling through his corrupted UI is not how to cure the infection, but whether the system was ever clean to begin with.
