Memory Quilt Patch: Eden of the East

Posted by Author | Anime Review, Janette, Manga Review, Memory Quilt | Wednesday 9 December 2009 2:35 am

The movie trailer series, as I like to call it, as everything was just a prologue to the movie that will be coming out. I honestly didn’t care one wit about the story, and considering how complicated things got, I’m glad I didn’t. I just really liked the characters. The ending was pretty dang sweet though, for an open ended ending.

However, I am really excited about the movie.

I know I’m not always the best about posting, but I’m now on an official haitus! You see…I’ve run out of quilt patches to post! So I’m going to take some time, make about a months supply of memory quilt patches, and then be back!

Part 3 should hopefully come tonight, but I don’t promise anything. Harvest Moon:Tree of Traquility is really addictive.

I love Rena so much. She’s also who the first season’s season finale focused on, which is why I picked her.

I watched the famous 26 episode series last year. I actually hesitated to watch it for a long time, as I don’t like blood and gore very much, which from what I heard, I thought there was a lot of.

I actually opted to read the manga instead, as the first two volumes have been released over here by Yen Press.

However, the manga hasn’t been released beyond two volumes so far, and my library added the series to its collection. In between those two factors, I decided I wanted to give it a try.

I enjoyed it very much. The violence wasn’t as bad as I thought, although Shion’s arc was a little upsetting for me. In all honesty, I find Umineko scarier then Higurashi. It may have something to do with the fact I marathoned Higurashi, but can’t marathon Umineko.

My favorite part of the series was the characters. I can’t really pick a favorite character in Higurashi, I love them all. The main purpose of the first season seemed to laying the groundwork for the second season, but we’ll leave that for another day.

Memory Quilt Patch: Hatsukoi Limited

7531_128909449254_690414254_2352480_350123_nI know I messed up on the colors. I feel bad about it.

I watched this show during the spring season. I also wrote an impression for it way back when, and it’s been lost in the land of  uncategorized blog post land. Still, I remember the show really fondly.

It was a great show with some interesting characters, and real depth to it. The only real disappointment that I found with the show was that it was relatively short, a mere 12 episodes long.

I actually did not start out watching this show at the start of spring season, but watched when I caught the swine flu and was stuck at home from school. They didn’t want me there…

Memory Quilt Patch: Haibane Reimei

Haibane Reimei was an anime I watched in my ‘summer of anime’ where I spent the summer before my freshmen year in a cast and thus, watched a lot of anime.

A 13 episode long series, at the time, Haibane Reimei was a very inspiring anime for me as someone who’s struggled with some issues. The message of forgiveness was very important to me. Besides that, the gorgeous art, slow but steady storyline, odd storyline and the overall cuteness of Rakka was very appealing to me. My first cosplay actually was from Haibane Reimei as Rakka.

On an interesting note, I actually worked on this patch while at church camp.
